I just browned some ground beef, drained it, then stir-fried it with chopped cabbage. I cooked it until the cabbage was tender then seasoned to taste. This is a very simple hamburger recipe, but tasty.

Beef and Cheese Broccoli

ground beef with broccoli and topped with a cheese sauce (Ragu makes an easy one... just pour) Can you even find a simple hamburger recipe easier than this?

Mix together.

Low Carb Sloppy Joes
  • 1 6-8 oz can Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • caramel davincis

Mix together in a bowl. Pour into pan with ground meat. I know she has more to the recipe, but I can't find it to link to her site, so anyways. With this base, you should be able to get a great sloppy sauce.

LC Sloppy Joes:

Brown a pound or two of hamburger; drain. Squeeze in enough Heinz One Carb ketchup and mustard to make a nice orange color (I'd say it's twice as much red as yellow). Inhale.

I LOVE IT. My family eats it on buns or scoops it with chips, and I eat it with a spoon from a bowl. Good stuff and I always have the ingredients on hand for this simple hamburger recipe.

Sloppy Joes

  • 16 oz. ground beef
  • 1 cup diet coke (tried with most dark cokes and they all taste good)

Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain beef and add back to skillet. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Simmer until sauce gets thick (or to your liking).

Serves about 4. 4gr. of carbs & 1gr fiber, for a total of 3 net carbs and 27gr. protein.[/COLOR]

I tried this tonight; yummy! Glad I doubled the recipe. I plan to add some homemade taco seasoning next time to the beef.

Cheeseburger Salad (more than 3 but still simple)

  • 1 bag salad mix
  • shredded cheese
  • dill pickles
  • lo carb ketchup & mustard
  • diced tomato

Toss salad w/ ground chuck, add in other ingredients to taste.

Crock Pot Roast

  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 medium onion, quartered

Salt and pepper raw roast and place in crock pot. Place undiluted soup and onion on top. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Enjoy this easy hamburger recipe.

You can remove the roast when you get home from work and put carrots, potatoes and/or mushrooms in the "gravy". Turn crock pot setting to "high" for about an hour.

Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe
  • One medium corned beef
  • head of cabbage

Place the corned beef, the little seasoning package and the cabbage in the crock pot. Cook on high for several hours and serve with a little spicy mustard.

Mexican steak
  • Cube steaks
  • Salsa or Rotel tomatoes or a combination of both
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Spray a baking dish with Pam and lay cube steaks in it. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour salsa/rotel over to cover steaks. Place in a 350 oven. Sprinkle a nice, kind of thick layer of cheese over the top the last 10 minutes of cooking. I'm not really sure how long to cook-maybe 30 minutes? I just play it by ear, depending on how thick the steaks are.

This is good for using cheaper, tougher steaks. The acid in the tomatoes helps to tenderize them a bit. You could even let them sit in the salsa for 30 minutes or so before cooking to help tenderize them a little more.

Fish Eyes
  • 1 jar dried beef
  • several small whole dill pickles
  • 8 oz pkg cream cheese
  • worcestershire sauce

Open jar of dried beef and fan out the slices. Take the cream cheese and blend it with the worcestershire sauce to your taste. Lay out the dill pickles, dry with paper towel.

  • shredded cheddar to taste

brown the ground beef with spices preferred
chop cabbage and add to beef until cooked down some
throw in the can of rotel tomatoes
after it's all cooked nicely throw in your cheddar to taste. the cheddar and juice from the rotel make a nice cheese sauce. this ended up being really good. Hubby, who hates cabbage, gobbled it and gave me the approval to make this simple hamburger recipe again! Awesome!!!

Low Carb Meatloaf
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Low Sugar Ketchup (to taste)
  • Okay, 4 ingredients, you need 2 eggs.

  • Cubed red meat (stew meat, or round steak or whatever
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • (Lawry's, alternatively)

Deep fry the cubed meat, season the heck out of it, and serve. I've never seen it before I came to the midwest, but it's goooooood and makes for a quick lunch.

Beef florentine

  • chopped onions
  • eggs
  • Fresh spinach

Brown hamburger with onions and seasonings. Drain (or not). Scramble in some eggs. When the eggs are done, throw in a whole bag of fresh baby spinach. Cook and stir until the spinach is wilted.

That's it! Very easy, and yummy! Sometimes I'll sprinkle some parmesan and/or worcesteshire sauce on it before eating.

Butter fried Roast Beef
  • 1 cup of chopped onion (this lazy cook buys it pre-chopped)
  • Sautee in butter until soft
  • Add 1 can canned Roast Beef from Trader Joe's (I shred it with my fingers just break it up a little) sautee until roast beef gets all crispy.

You may want to add some butter after you've added the protein of your choice.

This is the way that my Mom used to make S.O.S. and I like it much better because hamburger can be found everywhere and dried beef can't.

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • Carb Countdown milk (or heavy cream diluted with water - I've done it both ways)
  • celery salt to taste
  • Thicken/Thin

In large frying pan, cook hamburger until crumbled - drain grease. Add milk until the hamburger meat is covered with liquid. Add celery salt to taste. When mixture is just starting to boil, turn down the heat and add Thicken/Thin until mixture is a thick gravy consistency.

This dish was originally intended to be eaten on "shingles" - slices of toasted bread. But since I don't do "shingles" I just try to make sure that the mixture is thick enough so it can be eaten "shingle-less!"

This simple hamburger recipe is really thicker the next day, so I often make enough for leftovers.

Green Bean Steak

  • 1 lb. beef fillet steak
  • 1/2 lb. cheddar or swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • 12 marinated green beans, plus some liquid, OR 4 pickled onions, plus some liquid
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation: Prepare and heat grill, if using. Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper and cook on grill or under broiler for about 14-16 minutes (medium), until desired doneness, turning once during cooking. Cover with foil and let rest for 15 minutes, then slice very thinly against the grain. Slice green beans very thinly. Layer beef and cheese slices on each plate. Top with slices of green beans or onion and drizzle with some of the reserved liquid. Serves 4

Cheesy Hot Beef
  • ground beef
  • cream cheese
  • buffalo sauce

Brown the beef, add cream cheese and cook until melted. Top with Buffalo sauce. Eat. Yum. A truly easy hamburger recipe!

Fancy Cheap Steak
  • 1 flank steak, 1-2 lbs, depending on how many people you're serving (figure 1/4 - 1/2 lb per person)
  • 1 bottle LC Italian salad dressing
  • 1 package herby soft cheese, like Boursin or Alouette

Put the steak on a large cutting board, and with a sharp knife, cut long slashes through the meat in two directions so you end up with a sort of diamond pattern. Do this on both sides of the meat. Flank steak has a definite "grain" so make sure you're cutting across it in 2 diagonal directions, not parallel to it.

Place the steak into a large glass or plastic container that will allow the meat to lie flat. Pour the salad dressing over the meat. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Turn the meat over once or twice during this time if the dressing doesn't completely cover it.

When you're ready to cook, preheat your oven broiler and get your broiler pan ready. Take the steak out of the marinade and place it on the cutting board again. Pour the marinade down the drain. Wipe the steak dry with paper towels. Put the steak on the broiler pan and broil it for about 5-10 minutes on one side, depending on the thickness of the meat.

Take the broiler pan out of the oven and turn the steak over so the raw side is on top. Now get that herby cheese and smear it all over the top side of the steak. Put the pan back under the broiler and broil till the cheese turns bubbly and gets a little browned.

When serving, slice it thinly on the diagonal. You can easily see the "grain" of the meat; cut it the other way!

NOTE: Do not overcook the meat. Flank steak is very, very tough, and while the marinade and the diamond slashes help tenderize it, overcooking will turn it into shoe leather. The meat should still be bright pink in the middle.

Yummy crockpot roast
  • Roast
  • 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix (dried)

Dump onion soup mix over roast and add 1/2 C water to crockpot. Cook roast a good 5 hours or until it is falling apart. Love it!

Easy Cheesy Meatballs
  • Trader Joe's Frozen Meatballs (defrosted)
  • Trader Joe's Three Cheese Marinara
  • Trader Joe's Shredded Parmesan.

place meatballs in sauce pan, cover with sauce, heat through, melt cheese on top

yes I make individual servings in the microwave

Pepper Roast

  • 1 beef roast (chuck, top round, about $1.69/lb)
  • jar of pepperoncini peppers
  • slivers of garlic

Cut some slits in roast and insert garlic slivers. Place beef in crockpot. Dump peppers and all of the juice on top. Crock all day on least 12 hours. For serving, just slice and serve, or make BB's hoagies. When cool, fork-shred beef, spread on hoagie (sub) rolls, squirt on some Cheeze-Whiz and pig out!!! Put some of those delicious (now meaty) pepperoncini peppers on the sub too!!

Walking Hot Meatball Salad
  • 6 fully cooked frozen meatballs, per person
  • Bella Vita Pasta Sauce, to cover
  • romaine lettuce or fresh spinach.
  • Disposable 20 oz. cup & fork per person

Place meatballs in microwavable bowl, top with sauce and cover bowl (a plate works great), microwave @ 1 minute per serving. Place torn lettuce or spinach in disposable cups, layer meatballs on top. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, if desired. Grab disposable fork and go enjoy the great outdoors, perhaps visiting with your neighbors.

Beef and Summer Squash Saute

A one pot meal. Three main ingredients, plus seasonings...

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (organic REALLY does taste, smell and look better)
  • 4 zucchini diced (or mix and match, last night used 2 zukes and 2 yellow)
  • 4 roma tomatoes, chopped (or a can of diced, I like the ones with seasonings)

  • Onion, chopped (I used 1 large)
  • Garlic, minced (I used 4-6 cloves)
  • Seasonings (I used dried oregano and basil, about 1 1/2 tsp each)
  • Salt and pepper

Brown beef in skillet with chopped onions and minced garlic until meat is browned. Season with spices. Add tomatoes (I add the liquid when using a can as well) and diced squash. Stir well and saute for a few minutes until zucchini is tender. Makes 4 good sized servings.

I love this simple hamburger recipe, having it almost weekly now. Very fast, easy and nutritious. If you do dairy it is nice with some fresh grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.

Bacon Wrapped Meatball

You take one pre-cooked, frozen (but thawed) Italian meatball and wrap with a 1/2 slice of bacon.. Yup and you can use a toothpick to keep the bacon wrapped and can then just pick it up by the toothpick and eat it too.

I never tried it but I'm sure you could use your own favorite meatball recipe with fresh meats and they would be even better. We just like the frozen ones for the convenience. Next time we make them I will try it with fresh meat.

To cook them it's either on the smoker at like 250 degrees, or on the grill using indirect heat. If done in the oven maybe 350ish?

Before Low-Carb we would sprinkle them with a BBQ rub that had a decent amount of brown sugar and would glaze them with BBQ sauce the last 20 mins. Just thought maybe you or anyone would like to know in case you make them for non-low carbers and wanted to try that out for them.

Beef and Cabbage

Brown HB meat. I season it with pepper and garlic, mmmmmmmmmmmmm Heat cabbage in bacon grease. (I, sometimes add onions with the cabbage). When cabbage and/or onions begins to wilt, mix into browned hamburger meat.

At this point, I nearly always add grated cheese, but that it optional.

Once cheese melts, serve hot..

Beef (Sausage) Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms
  • 1 roll of spicy sausage (you can use ground beef, or a mix of beef and sausage too)
  • Veggies (I like red/green bell peppers and onions)
  • 1 cap of Portobello per person

Brown the meat/sausage When it's brown-ish add the veggies and mix throughly While the veggies cook, sautee or grill the mushroom cap with some butter or olive oil (I use my George Foreman)

Put a portion of prepared meat on top of the mushroom and enjoy!

A roll of sausage serves 3 or 4 persons, depending on how much veggies you use

Beef Cabbage with peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 oz.s cooked crumpled ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter

Add cabbage to hot ground beef. Cook until cabbage is slightly wilted. Soy sauce and hot sauce to taste. Another simple hamburger recipe.

Beef Cabbage and Peanut Butter #2
More then 3 Ingredients but soooo easy.
  • 1/2 bag of coleslaw mix-no dressing
  • About a cup of sliced bell peppers ( I buy the frozen strips)
  • 1/2 cup of green onions chopped
  • A couple of Tbls. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • Rooster sauce
  • ground beef, cooked

Saute the onions and peppers for about a minute, add the coleslaw mix, add the soy sauce, peanut butter, rooster sauce, and leftover meat. Yum!

Ground Beef Hash
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or ground turkey, chicken, pork, etc)
  • 3-3 Medium turnips, diced as small as you want
  • Seasonings (I used 1 tsp Worchestershire Sauce and 1/4-1/2 tsp garlic powder)

Microwave diced turnips for about 2 minutes. (you want them soft, not mushy)
While turnips are in the microwave, Brown ground meat. Remove from pan with slotted spoon and reserve.
Add soft turnips to pan drippings and brown. When browned, return meat to the pan and stir to combine.
Add seasonings to taste.

This simple hamburger recipe would be good for breakfast with an egg or two.

Stuffed Cabbage (4 ingredients)
  • 1 lg. head cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can Saurkraut

Discard tough green outter leaves from cabbage. With a sharp knife, core cabbage. Fill pot 3/4 full with water, heat to boiling and place cabbage in water. Using two large spoons or forks, gently separate leaves as outter leaves soften and remove 8 large leaves from cabbage and set aside. Trim rib of each reserved cabbage leaf very thin.

Brown ground beef until cooked. Drain Saurkraut and add to browned ground beef. Stir in one can of tomato sauce. On center of each cabbage leaf place about 1/2 cup of ground beef mixture and fold 2 sides of cabbage leaf over meat, overlapping edges. Roll jelly-roll fashion and place seam side down in 12 x 8 baking dish. Pour remaining jar of sauce over cabbage rolls, cover dish with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven for 11/2 hours or until cabbage is tender, basting often with sauce in dish.

Super easy, tasty beef stroganoff

chop your favorite cut of beef into bite size pieces (i've also used chicken)
sautee in butter and chopped onion
add about a half cup of cream of mushroom soup and 2 tablespoons sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Very tasty for the non low carbers served over noodles. But just as good by itself!

Salsa Beef
  • Ground Beef
  • chili spices
  • Jar of Pace chunky salsa

Browned the ground beef and added chili spices and a little water. Dumped in the jar of salsa and simmered til heated. Topped with cheddar, onion and sour cream. YUM!!
